刺しゅう 基礎

立体的なモチーフが特徴の刺しゅう、スタンプワーク。やってみたいけど、何だか難しそう…と思っていませんか？ 実はスタンプワークは、刺し方に堅苦しい決まりはありません。レイズドボタンホールステッチ・フレンチノットステッチ・レイズドリーフステッチ・スミルナステッチ・芯入りボタンホールステッチ、この5つのステッチを覚えればスタンプワークならではの立体刺しゅうが楽しめます。立ち上がった葉のついたベリーやサクランボ、ぬいぐるみみたいなクマの顔など、いくつかのステッチを組み合わせることでさらに表現が広がります。難しく考えずに、小さくてかわいいモチーフから一緒に作ってみましょう。

日本アートクラフト協会の本科・専攻科・指導者研修科を経て講師資格を取得。現在は各地で刺しゅう教室を開催。簡単なステッチを使い、時代の流れをつかんだ作品の表現には定評がある。生活の中で使える作品を心掛けている。

Stumpwork is three-dimensional embroidery. Although it looks difficult, it actually is rather simple. By learning only five stitches as raised buttonhole stitch, French knot stitch, raised leaf stitch, Smyrna stitch and corded buttonhole stitch, you will be able to enjoy 3D embroidery of stumpwork. Combining some stitches will extend the range of expression, and enable to make pretty projects such as berries and cherries with leaves, pretty teddy bear faces, and more.
